Colbie Caillat, Ting Tings Shake Up Billboard Hot 100

Colbie Caillat
July 09, 2009 11:00 AM ET
Ayala Ben-Yehuda, Silvio Pietroluongo and Keith Caulfield, L.A.

Colbie Caillat, Mary Mary and the Ting Tings shake up the Billboard Hot 100 in a week where the top five spots on the chart remain unchanged. Caillat has the week’s hot shot debut at No. 12 with “Falling For You,” the first song from her forthcoming album “Breakthrough,” due Aug. 25. With 118,000 first-week downloads, it’s also her first top 10 on the Hot Digital Songs chart since debut single “Bubbly” peaked at No. 4 in November 2007. “That’s Not My Name” by the Ting Tings returns to the Billboard Hot 100 nearly two months after moving to recurrent status as an increased surge in radio airplay and digital downloads prompts a No. 45 re-entry, its best chart ranking yet. The track first entered the list in December and peaked at No. 52 in the May 9 issue. Top 40 radio play is the basis for its reappearance, as it moves 22-19 on the Mainstream Top 40 tally and makes its first foray onto the Hot 100 Airplay chart at No. 57 (21.8 million listener impressions). The track has also made inroads with the pre-teen set, having accumulated over 300 plays to date on Radio Disney. Following a performance at the highly-rated BET Awards, gospel duo Mary Mary return to the Hot 100 for the first time since 2000 with single “God In Me” featuring Kierra Sheard. The song saw a 69% gain in downloads, landing it at No. 91 on the Hot 100. Elsewhere on the chart, New Boyz’ “You’re a Jerk” scores a 20% airplay gain to land at No. 40.

The top five placeholders on the Hot 100 are the same as last week’s, with the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” scoring the week’s greatest airplay increase and maintaining its No. 1 spot. The Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow” holds on at No. 2, Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” stays at No. 3, Keri Hilson’s “Knock You Down,” featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo, remains at No. 4, and Lady GaGa’s “LoveGame” is still No. 5. Sean Kingston’s “Fire Burning” climbs 7-6, Jeremih’s “Birthday Sex” rises 8-7, Pitbull’s “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” drops two spots to No. 8, and Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” climbs 11-9. Linkin Park’s “New Divide” falls one spot to No. 10. On Billboard’s Hot Digital Songs chart, Michael Jackson will hold down five out of the top 10 slots, with “Man in the Mirror” leading as his top selling digital download song of the week (159,000; down 3%). Overall, it ranks as the second-best selling song of the week, next to the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” (215,000; up 6%). Miley Cyrus climbs to No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart with “The Climb,” rising 2-1 in its 17th chart week. It’s Cyrus’ first No. 1 single on any of Billboard’s airplay charts. Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart greets two debuts within its top 40 this week. Tim McGraw’s “It’s a Business Doing Pleasure With You” enters at No. 35 while Toby Keith’s “American Ride” starts at No. 38. McGraw’s “Business” is the first single from his forthcoming studio set “Southern Voice,” due out this fall. Keith’s recently recorded “Ride” was rushed to radio and seemed a perfect fit for Independence Day-themed programming.

Jamaican Beauty Nerissa Irving – A Natural Queen

OutAroad.com Model Of The Week

nerris_irvin_modelphotos.jpgI’m all about my dreams, family, my health, friends, and my wealth. If anyone tries to mess with those things, there’s going to be a problem. LOL. But I’m serious. I’ve been trying to do this whole modeling acting thing since I was a little girl, but I put it on pause to finish school. But now is my turn to shine. This is a very hard and competitive industry. If your weak you won’t make it. I’ts not all about looks in this industry. You need the whole package to get by.(brains, talent, 75% beauty, and good communication skills). I am currently in acting school now.

IF YOU RESPECT YOURSELF, YOU WILL GET RESPECT……

My main goal is to live life to my best ability. just to be happy, and feel happy about what I become in the future..

I let god take my life in his hands.. Whatever he has in store for me, that’s what I will become. I don’t set goals, because you live your life trying to fulfill those goals and by doing that you let so many other opportunities pass you by.

Don’t be afraid to change coarse. do it passionately and you’ll find your way.And yes, I’m the girl in the Bobby Valentino video.(Its good to have knowledge, but its better to pass it on)

Am hair, not locked nor lost!

I’m here with my hair…, Natural, not locked nor lost…, While some call me Rasta or dreadlocked…, Neither books of religion or academia can define me…! For this is me, the true African Queen…! Not dreaded but loved, not lost but lusted after…, Not locked up and under foreigners…, Not arresting my destined natural progression…, But majestically flowing in the richness of my own roots… My Mama Africa taught me that my essence is ‘my Ori’…, The Yoruba word for ‘my head’…, From which my destiny naturally grows…! In my natural growth, I take my Black pride… Strong as the roots and stems of my African heritage… I display my natural crown for all to see… That am neither locked nor lost… …only rightfully proud of my natural gift Which my Ori, my head, destined to crown me… As a true Natural Queen!(Nerissa Irving)

“I’m moving up the success hill” – Isabel Aurora

OutAroad.com Model of The Week

Isabel%20Aurora_model1.jpg

Name: Isabel Aurora
Age: 22
Hometown: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Measurements: 34-27-37
Sign: Taurus

Tell us about your favorite experience on a video and/or photo shoot (what video, what artist/song):

I have had so many wonderful experiences, but if I had to choose a favorite I would say this one time I shot on South Beach Miami for a swimsuit calendar. I’ve shot on South Beach a few times but this particular time, the beach was really busy. I loved it because people were stopping to watch, and some even were taking pictures of me with their cell phones! I remember a man walking with a woman (I guess they were married) and he stopped and she grabbed his arm to make him keep moving haha I felt like a celebrity!

Tell us about your worst experience on a video and/or photo shoot (what video, what artist/song):

I was shooting fashion in-studio in Raleigh, NC. I was playing in my hair and posing when all of a sudden my hair piece came off! The funny thing was that the photographer kept shooting while I was trying to hide from the camera.
Seemore.jpg

Isabel%20Aurora_model3.jpg

What part of your body do you like the most and why:

I love my eyes. I feel if a woman can be expressive through her eyes alone then that is true class and sex appeal. I have never been afraid of eye contact whether it is with the camera, or in every day life. My eyes can tell you everything about me, or keep you guessing and wanting more – I’m in control.

What part of your body do you like the least and why:

While I have learned to love and appreciate my curves, I would say I’m least fond my stomach. I have a little bump under my belly button as opposed to it being smooth and flat. But hey, many people have told me they like it so I figure as long as someone likes it I’ll be ok with it :o)

What your ideal man looks like, acts like, sounds like:

My ideal man must has his sh*t together and is doing something for himself first, and then for those who he loves as well after he is taken care of. I love tall athletic men, but don’t somehow all of my boyfriends have been shorter and a more thin build haha But most importantly, my ideal man is AT LEAST my equal as far as where they are in their success path of life. I’m moving up the success hill and I don’t need any dead weight to carry with me. And while I appreciate the love a man has for his mother, mamma’s boys need not apply – I take care of and spoil my man and I don’t need to butt heads with mommy who doesn’t want to let go of the roles I should be playing :o) On the flip side, I like to be spoiled – too bad I’m having to spoil myself right now…anyone want to step up to the plate? haha

Isabel%20Aurora_model2.jpg

Your biggest turn-on?

I loooooove a man who can dress to impress. Grown and sexy, mixed with young professional, mixed with the preppy look is what I’m talking about! But I need for them to be able to keep up that look lol just cause you have one Ed Hardy outfit doesn’t count!

From 1-10, what’s the actual chance of you dating a guy who’s logged on, looking at you right now?

Ooh that’s a good one. I’d have to say maybe a 7. I’ve met men on the internet before whom I actually really started liking.

Anthony Jones – Celebrity News Service Contributor

Miami, FL (CNS) – After 12 weeks, there’s finally a new song at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. But great news for the Black Eyed Peas: it’s by them, too. The Black Eyed Peas unseat themselves at the top with their latest single, “I Gotta Feeling.” The David Guetta-produced dance track drops their long-running #1 “Boom Boom Pow” to #2.”I Gotta Feeling” is only the second Hot 100 #1 for the group, which had a string of previous radio hits like “Don’t Phunk with My Heart” and “My Humps.” “Boom Boom Pow” was the group’s first single to climb all the way to the top.

Drake continues at #3 for another week with “Best I Ever Had,” while Keri Hilson stays put at #4 with “Knock You Down” featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo. Lady GaGa moves up to #5 with her latest single, “LoveGame,” earning the pop singer her third Billboard top 5 hit.

Pitbull is down one spot to #6 with his dance single, “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho).” Sean Kingston continues at #7 this week with “Fire Burning,” while Jermih stays put at #8 with “Birthday Sex.”

Climbing up all the way from #30 to #9 this week is Linkin Park, with their “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” soundtrack cut, “New Divide.” Katy Perry moves back into the top 10 with “Waking Up in Vegas” in the #10 spot.

Sexy Tita – she’s hot – she’s blazing

sexygirl_tita.jpgHey, my name as you all know is Tita, I was born in Jamaica but spent most of my adult life traveling. I can’t wait to get back home to party like a RockStar – just kidding; my aim is to finish college and to be my own boss. After school I am going to still pursue my modeling and I am not going to stop until I’m at the top and beyond.

What she do in her spare time:
I love my family so whenever I get the chance to hangout with them I do. Apart from that I love to go to the beach to show off my sexy figure and relax. But on a cooler side, I will stay home watch movie, read, and doing cross-word puzzles.

Who she wants to be like:
It’s not that I am disrespecting anyone, but I only want to be me, there are persons who I idolize – but at the end of the day don’t you ever try to be like them.

Advice to others:
Life is story so be careful how you turn the pages. Meaning, in what ever you do, think before you do so because it’s not a wonderful feeling to make decisions that will haunt you for the rest of your life.

MS. Nikki ‘Bad From She Born’ – Armed and Sexy

sexygirl-msnikki.jpg

I am a vibrant 26 year old who loves life. I love experiencing new things, and just trying some sh*t that would be completely out of the ordinary. I am currently in nursing school, and will hopefully be graduating this December.

The most important thing to me at this point in my life – I want to make a better life for my folks than the one I had. I’m not saying that I grew up in poverty, but my mama struggled like a mutha f*cka to pull us through. So everyday, I grind so my kids can live the best life they can, lol. And as for my hommies; I love ‘em all. If I didn’t have them to keep me afloat when I couldn’t hold myself, I’d be f*cked up GOOD.

Sexy Ecstasy Model Brittney – “I’m a go-getter”

EcstasyModelsbrittney-sexygirlshot.jpg

Name: Brittney
Age: 21
Hometown: Columbus,GA
Measurements: 34-28-40
What’s Your Sign: scorpio

Her favorite experience on a video and/or photo shoot:
My favorite photo shoot was with Blood Raw. He’s really nice and sweet. It was very professional and didn’t take long at all. Plus I met him before and he actually remembered who I was.

Her worst experience on a video and/or photo shoot:
My worst photo shoot was my very first one. I was so nervous and it was at a barber shop in the morning and full of men getting their hair cut! I was so nervous and uncomfortable.

What part of your body do you like the most and why:
it’s a tie between my eyes and my butt. I love my eyes. I love the shape of them. And of course by butt. It surprises me everyday how something so big could be placed on someone so small.
Seemore.jpg

EcstasyModelsbrittney-sexygirl.jpgWhat part of your body do you like the least and why:
my stomach could always be flatter. I want Shakira’s stomach

Her ideal man looks like, acts like, sounds like:
My ideal man is tall, pretty smile, and loves to laugh and have fun.
He has to have his mind right and going places with his life or he”ll get left behind. I’m a go-getter so he needs to be also.

Describe your ideal sexy night:
Taking me out on a date to try something that I’ve never done before, then catering to me all night!

Her biggest turn-on?
Pretty smile, and a nice wardrobe goes a long way. Some one who can be grown and sexy but still has his own personal style.

From 1-10, what’s the actual chance of you dating a guy who’s logged on – looking at you right now? 2. I don’t really date off the internet.

Her Secrets
One thing nobody knows about me: I’m the biggest nerd that I know. And I love to draw
The quickest way to my heart is: To spoil me with attention and be yourself. I don’t need the material things.
The quickest way to . . . uh, you know. . . the bed… is:
The quickest way for man to get dismissed is: Being conceited. There’s a big difference between being confident and conceited

Worst pick-up line you’ve ever heard: “Damn girl, what you wearing? A diaper?”
Best pick-up line that worked:

The biggest misconception about modeling is:
Most models are conceited and only date those who are celebrities themselves
What made you decide to get into modeling: I wanted to try something new, just to see if I had what it takes. So far everything is going great.

Favorite movie, TV show, music artist:
My favorite movie is “40 Year Old Virgin, and my favorite artist is T.I. I love his swag and his music. I’ve been a true fan since day one.
Best mood music: anything by Jodeci or Ne-Yo. He always says all the right words
If you had to date a woman who would it be?: Myself.I’m loyal, intelligent, talented, ambitious, and fun to be around. And I’m already in love with myself so why look any further?

Her Secrets of how to maintain a wonderful shape:
I do 20 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes using light weights on my arms and legs to keep them toned. I love the elliptical machine

Sexy ‘Browning’ – Should be in Smooth Magazine – Who’s the real hater?

sexyphotosbrowningcalldamarshall_girlsrihanna.jpg

THEY SIT WITH MY ENEMIES AND PLOTT, SCHEME AND LAY IN WAIT, STILL I RISE. THEY TURN THE WEAK HEARTED AND SLOW MINDED AGAINST ME, BUT I REMAIN SOLID AS A ROCK. WHEN THEY SEE ME, THEY GIVE ME THEIR PHONY SMILES, AND LAUGHS, THEY PRETEND AND ACT, CHANGE LIKE THE WEATHER AND ALL THE WHILE THEY ARE WISHING DEATH UPON ME, AND STILL I REMAIN UNMOVED.THEY CRITICIZE MY CHOICE OF DRESSING, YET ALL THE WHILE THEY ARE DYING TO BE LIKE ME, THAY HATE THE FRIENDS I HAVE AND YET THEY WANT TO BE MY FRIEND. THEY SIT AND WONDER WHAT IT LIKE FOR ME AND HOW I LIVE, WHILE THEIR LIVES ARE IN TURMOIL AND MISERY. IF THEY CAN PUT MY JESUS ON THE CROSS AND CRUCIFIED HIM, THEN WHO AM I FOR THEM NOT TO JUDGE. SO NOW I ASK WHO’S THE REAL HATER. ??

Walkers Wood’s Wray of hope

Published: Wednesday | June 24, 2009

Latoya Grindley, Gleaner Writer
Giftion Wray stands beside proud mother, Ava Palmer, who displays some of his awards. – Norman Grindley/Chief Photographer

Giftion ‘Tashawn’ Wray has an irrepressible passion for bat and ball. But the young cricketer isn’t merely playing games – he’s using his talent to mentor schoolchildren.

A former member of the national Under-19 team and a member of the St Ann cricket outfit, Wray has been volunteering at his alma mater, Walkers Wood All-Age School.

On specific days, he assists students in honing their cricketing skills, along with the school’s coach. According to the pace bowler and batsman, passing on sport techniques is as important as learning them.

Willing to help

“I help them to learn the basics because it really doesn’t make sense that I have the knowledge and skills and keep them secret. If I can help, I will,” he told The Gleaner.

It was at this very school that Wray sharpened his technique before moving onto Vere Technical Highg where he joined the school’s cricket team.

“I used to play cricket for my school and that was when I started my stint on the Under-19 team,” he said. “At Vere, I got the Best Player award for my performance.”

In his Lime Gate community in Walkerswood, he is viewed as a cricket genius. His mother, Ava Palmer, said she was one of the few who paid little attention to his talent when the signs were glaring. In fact, she believed the sport was simply a family pastime.

Bigger ambitions

“In the evenings when I would come home and not have anything to do, I would just join in with him and play cricket,” she told The Gleaner. “I didn’t know he would reach this far. I just thought it was purely fun.”

The former backyard batsman now has his sights set on bigger ambitions, like a call-up to the senior team in the future.

“My experience on the Under-19 team was very good. I learnt a lot and I met and spoke to cricketers like Brian Lara,” he said.

In August, the 19-year-old (he was 18 when he qualified for the Under-19s) will leave the island for United States city Orlando for cricket duties.

“I was invited to play cricket there in the summer after being invited by the Central Florida Cricket Association. I am really looking forward to this,” he said.

Till then, he gives self and time to other budding cricketers. To those students, he is a star and role model. But Wray sees himself as just a lanky lad with the weighty responsibility of shaking up his little side of Jamaica.

Drake Flies Twice Into Top 10 Of Billboard Hot 100

Rising hip-hop star Drake sees two songs hit the Top 10 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.
June 25, 2009 10:56 AM ET
Ayala Ben-Yehuda, L.A.

Drake flies twice into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 this week, with “Best I Ever Had” the week’s greatest airplay gainer and “Every Girl,” his collaboration with Lil Wayne, Gudda Gudda, Mack Maine and Jae Millz, the week’s biggest digital gainer. Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” and “Every Girl” (by the combo known as Young Money) jumped 27-3 and 34-10 respectively, after unauthorized versions of the songs showed up earlier this month on the Hot Digital Songs chart. This week, legit versions racked up 153,000 and 90,000 downloads each. The Black Eyed Peas continue their Hot 100 reign at No. 1 and No. 2 with “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling.” Keri Hilson featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo’s “Knock You Down” drops 3-4, Pitbull’s “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” falls 4-5, Lady GaGa’s “Lovegame” falls 5-6, and Sean Kingston’s “Fire Burning” cools 6-7. Also in the top 10 are Jeremih’s “Birthday Sex,” which falls 6-8, and Shinedown’s “Second Chance,” steady at No. 9. Following her June 16 CMT Awards ceremony-opening airing of the video of “Thug Story,” a parody of her hit “Love Story” featuring T-Pain, Taylor Swift’s gag got picked up by 26 mainstream top 40 radio stations. The original is at No. 29 on the Hot 100 this week.

New Boyz’ “You’re a Jerk” is the week’s hot shot debut at No. 32, moving 53,000 downloads and gaining 12% in airplay audience. Other new entries include Pitbull’s “Hotel Room Service” at No. 63 and All Time Low’s “Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don’t) at No. 67, in advance of the latter’s Vans Warped Tour run. Rounding out the Hot 100 is David Guetta feat. Kelly Rowland’s “When Love Takes Over,” which tops the Official U.K. Singles Chart this week and also reigns over Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay chart for the fifth week. On the Alternative radio chart, Franz Ferdinand’s “No You Girls” ascends 11-9 in its 16th week on the tally. The quartet last visited the top 10 with “Do You Want To” in 2005. Michael Jackson Dies at 50

Michael Jackson
June 25, 2009 05:22 PM ET
Gail Mitchell, L.A.

The death of Michael Jackson brings to a sudden end the life of a performer who captivated pop audiences with the Jackson 5 and matured into a performer of electric charisma and unprecedented crossover appeal, before living out his final years as a virtual recluse. Jackson died June 25 after reportedly being found unconscious in his Bel Air, Calif., home. Paramedics rushed the 50-year-old icon to UCLA Medical Center, where he was declared dead. Jackson was in Los Angeles rehearsing for a 50-date run of concerts at London’s O2 Arena that was to begin July 13.

Born Aug. 29, 1958, in Gary, Ind., Jackson was the seventh of nine children born to Katherine and Joseph Jackson. Along with older siblings Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon, Jackson first rose to fame as the pint-sized lead singer of the Jackson 5. Formed in 1964 and signed to Motown in 1968, the group quickly scored four back-to-back No. 1 pop and R&B hits, beginning with its 1969 debut single, “I Want You Back.” That was followed by “ABC,” “The Love You Save” and “I’ll Be There.” Jackson’s expressive tenor, electric dancing and natural charisma soon made him the group’s popular focal point, so much so that he began moonlighting as a solo artist early in the group’s tenure at Motown. He recorded four solo albums for the label, scoring his first top five pop/R&B hit with “Got to Be There” in 1971. One measure of Jackson’s unique talent was his ability to turn a song about a rat, “Ben,” into another top five smash.
In 1976, the Jackson 5 left Motown in a quest for more artistic freedom, signing with Epic Records and rechristening themselves the Jacksons. The group remained with that label until 1984, scoring seven top 40 hits during that time, including “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)” and “State of Shock.” It was during this time that Jackson began to come into his own as a creative force. Teaming with legendary producer Quincy Jones, Jackson released his first solo album for Epic, “Off the Wall,” in 1979. It was a pivotal step in Jackson’s evolution into “the King of Pop.” But it was on his second solo album, the 1983 mega-hit “Thriller,” when Jackson left his contemporaries in the dust. The album earned the singer a record-breaking eight Grammy Awards in 1984. His 1983 performance of “Billie Jean” on the “Motown 25″ TV special became an iconic moment when he introduced his James Brown-inspired moonwalk to a national audience. Beyond music, Jackson showed his humanitarian side on the 1985 benefit song “We Are the World,” which he co-wrote with Lionel Richie. Proceeds from the song were donated to the charity USA for Africa.

Although Jackson never again approached the sales stratosphere of “Thriller,” the follow-up albums “Bad” and “Dangerous” reached No. 1 on the pop chart in 1987 and 1991, respectively. So did the 1995 compilation of hits and new material, “HIStory: Past, Present and Future-Book 1.” In the years since, Jackson’s star lost some of its luster in the wake of child molestation charges (he was exonerated in a trial), two divorces and financial problems. Even so, there’s no denying Jackson’s enduring influence. He set a new standard for video aesthetics and stage productions, and his music continues to be sampled by hip-hop artists.

At the time of Jackson’s death, he was reported to be working on a new album with contemporary songwriter/producers like Akon, RedOne and others anxious to work with the legendary talent. Jackson reportedly had numerous health woes, including severe back problems, which plagued him during his 2005 trial. His weight dropped to about 105 pounds in 2005, according to some sources. In late 2008, Jackson biographer Ian Halperin claimed the pop star suffers from Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, a potentially fatal genetic illness, as well as emphysema and gastrointestinal bleeding. Halperin also told various sources that Jackson could barely speak and was 95% blind in his left eye. Jackson and his representatives at the time vigorously denied these claims. In the run-up to his planned 2009 series of concerts in London, rumors surfaced that Jackson was suffering from skin cancer, a claim denied by the concert promoter AEG Live. “He’s as healthy as he can be-no health problems whatsoever,” AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips told CNN. Phillips also said Jackson had passed a stringent physical exam before signing a deal to perform the concerts.

Lisa Marie Presley: Michael Jackson Afraid He’d ‘End Up’ Like Elvis

Lisa Marie Presley
June 26, 2009 05:04 PM ET
Dan Whitcomb (Reuters)

Michael Jackson’s former wife Lisa Marie Presley said on Friday the pop star was a tortured soul who once predicted that he would “end up” like her father, the late rock icon Elvis Presley. Writing on her MySpace blog, Presley also ripped into reports in the media that her relationship with Jackson was contrived, saying they split because she could not save him from self-destructive behavior. “Our relationship was not a ‘a sham’ as is being reported in the press,” Presley, 41, wrote in the blog posting, which was verified by her spokesperson. She called it an “unusual relationship” but added: “Nonetheless, I do believe he loved me as much as he could love anyone and I loved him very much.” Presley, the only daughter of the original “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” and a performer in her own right, describes having a conversation with Jackson about her father’s August 16, 1977 death. Elvis Presley died at age 42 of a heart attack after years of drug use.
“At some point he (Jackson) paused, he stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty: ‘I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did.’” Presley wrote that she tried to deter Jackson from the idea, but he shook his head and nodded “as if he knew what he knew” and would not be dissuaded. “As I sit here overwhelmed with sadness, reflection and confusion at what was my biggest failure to date, watching on the news almost play by play the exact scenario I saw happen on August 16, 1977 happening again right now with Michael (a sight I never wanted to see again), just as he predicted, I am truly, truly gutted,” she said. Presley wrote that she and Jackson’s family tried to save him from “the inevitable, which is what just happened” but she became overwhelmed and had to end their relationship. “I became very ill and emotionally/ spiritually exhausted in my quest to save him from certain self-destructive behavior and from the awful vampires and leeches he would always manage to magnetize around him,” she wrote. “I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news. For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don’t have the words. Divinity brought our souls together on The Wiz and allowed us to do what we were able to throughout the 80’s. To this day, the music we created together on Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad is played in every corner of the world and the reason for that is because he had it all…talent, grace, professionalism and dedication. He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I’ve lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him.” –Quincy Jones “May God cover you Michael. We all lift your name up in prayer. I pray for the entire JACKSON family particularly Michael’s mother, children and all his fans that loved him so much. I would not be the artist, performer, and philanthropist I am today without the influence of Michael. I have great admiration and respect for Him and I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to meet and perform with such a great entertainer, who in so many ways, transcended the culture. He broke barriers, he changed radio formats! With music, he made it possible for people like Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama to impact the mainstream world. His legacy is unparalleled. Michael Jackson will never be forgotten.” –Usher “The incomparable Michael Jackson has made a bigger impact on music than any other artist in the history of music. He was magic. He was what we all strive to be. He will always be the King of Pop! Life is not about how many breaths you take, but about how many moments in life that take your breath away. For anyone who has ever seen, felt, or heard his art, we are all honored to have been alive in this generation to experience the magic of Michael Jackson. I love you Michael.” –Beyonce “Yesterday was a day I will never forget, or want to remember. Michael was both weak and strong, clever and kind, talented beyond belief and equally insecure. He was a doting father, respectful son, loving brother, and caring uncle. He was my friend. I take great solace in the pride and confidence he exhibited during production rehearsals on Wednesday night. That is the memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.” –Randy Phillips, President & CEO of AEG Live, producers of “This Is It.
Michael Jackson’s personal crescendo of amazing power as an entertainer was clear and unmistakable — and has never slowed to this very day! His passing will be grieved far beyond that of any other singer, composer, producer, dancer and choreographer, in the history of the world. Indeed, in my very firmest, personal, belief there will never, ever be another Michael Jackson! –Don Cornelius, Soul Train

“Michael was a great and wonderful artist and performer. We were privileged and honored to record him and his brothers here at Philadelphia International Records. We are very honored to have been a part of Michael Jackson’s music and creative career in helping to write and produce his own music with his brothers. We know his music and legacy will live on for a very long time.” –Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, Philadelphia International “Peace to the King. I’m devastated by the passing of Michael Jackson; incredibly sad. He was one of my childhood idols. I salute you King of Pop. You made the whole world MoonWalk together.” –LL Cool J “Michael Jackson was a brilliant troubadour for his generation, a genius whose music reflected the passion and creativity of an era. His artistry and magnetism changed the music landscape forever. We have been profoundly affected by his originality, creativity and amazing body of work. The entire Sony family extends our deepest condolences to his family and to the millions of fans around the world who loved him.” –Sir Howard Stringer, Chairman, CEO and President, Sony Corporation “I woke up, like this is not happening. Still tearing up. I can’t believe this, so crazy to listen to that right now. We recorded that in NY when hit factory was in NY in 2000. spent 2 weeks of my life with that man teaching me about life, period. Not just about music. He heard the demo that was done over the summer in 2000 in philly. Wrote in in 97 and no one was checking for it. it was a floetry demo that went out. He didn’t want to touch my ad libs. For him to be mesmerized by my voice, I cant do it. he said, were just gonna keep you in there. ‘I Cant Help It’ was my favorite. I’m an ‘Off The Wall’ fan.” –Marsha Ambrosius, Floetry “Michael Jackson’s unsurpassed artistry and beloved music brought joy to every corner of the world. We join today with his millions of fans in expressing our profound sadness and we offer our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. It was a true privilege for all of us in the Sony Music family to work with one of the most talented superstars in the history of music. We will miss him greatly.” –Rolf Schmidt-Holtz, CEO, Sony Music Entertainment

“Michael was the kind of amazing talent that comes along once in a lifetime. He was an incredible recording artist, an insightful businessman, an unmatched performer, and a true icon. To all of us at Sony/ATV Music Publishing, he was also a trusted and passionate partner, who was very proud of our accomplishments. He will be dearly missed. We wish his children and entire family our deepest condolences.” –Martin Bandier, Chairman & CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing “I’m shocked. He was a pioneer who transcended genre and race with the most unique talent and style the world has ever or will ever see.” –Rob Thomas “The first album I ever bought with my own money was Thriller. His performance at the Grammys is a milestone in the history of American music. I watched it on tv and spent the next two weeks in my kitchen trying to learn how to moonwalk.” –Mark Hoppus, Blink 182 “Michael Jackson has been a part of my life for as long I have heard music. He in my mind is the ultimate entertainer of our generation. I can remember exact moments of my life based on Michael Jackson songs and videos.” –Pete Wentz “His death is a shock. I grew up being inspired by Michael Jackson’s music and magic. Michael Jackson showed me that you can actually see the beat. He made the music come to life!! He made me believe in magic. Many have tried and will try to copy him, but his talent will never be matched.” –Dick Clark, host of “American Bandstand.” “Michael Jackson was clearly one of the greatest entertainers of our era. His influence dominated and defined our culture not only in music, but in fashion, dance, film and so much more. Often overlooked are his spectacular skills as a songwriter, composing both music and lyrics for his immense body of work. In an era in which most songs are composed by teams, Michael was the sole composer of dozens of songs that endeared him to audiences around the world. A BMI songwriter since 1976, his BMI catalog contains more than 150 songs, more than 20 reaching multi-million performance status on American radio and television.” -Del Bryant, President & CEO, Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) “The entire Apollo family is saddened to learn of Michael Jackson’s untimely passing. Over the course of his solo career, Jackson charted 47 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, 13 of which went to No. 1. As part of the Jackson 5, he earned an additional four No. 1 Hot 100 hits. His “Thriller” album was the first to spawn seven top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart while his 1987 follow-up album, “Bad,” became the first to see five of its singles reach No. 1. Jackson was also the first act to ever debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 with “You Are Not Alone” on Sept. 2, 1995. His last studio project, 2001’s “Invincible,” has sold 2.1 million copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. The set’s first single, “You Rock My World,” became the entertainer’s final top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
His catalog of albums continues to sell strongly. Since “Thriller” was reissued in February 2008 in a special deluxe edition, it has sold 774,000 copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album re-entered Billboard’s Top Pop Catalog chart at No. 1 with 166,000 sold in its first week. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), it was the 32nd biggest selling album in the world last year and the ninth best seller for Sony Music.

Briana Loyd – She glowed like the full moon

Lovers Night by Jeff VerStraete

Briana_Loyd_photos_sexymodel_girl2.jpgA special dinner, That’s what he set out to do. To show her how special she was, To show her his love was true.

A candle light dinner, He made for them to eat. Looking deep into her eyes, Their souls did meet.

After they ate dinner, To the couch they did retire. Curled up together with a movie, And the sweet glow of a fire.

So relaxed and content, A feeling of heavenly bliss. On the back of her neck, He placed a sweet soft kiss.

It sent a shiver down her spine, And she turned and held him tight. Whispering softly in his ear, Make love to me all night.

He said I’ll be right back, As he got up off the couch. Into his bedroom he went, Then pulled out a pouch.

He pulled out rose pedals, And laid them all over the bed. Hundreds of rose pedals, White, yellow, pink and red.

Around the room, Candle after candle he did light. Making a soft glow in the room, That flicked in the night.

He went to the couch, And took her by the hand. She glowed like the full moon, As she got off the couch to stand.

He walked behind her down the hall, With his hands he covered her eyes. So she couldnt see anything, Especially the candle and rose pedal surprise.
Seemore.jpg

Briana_Loyd_photos_sexymodel_girl1.jpgWhen they got to the door, He let her see the surprise. It took away her breath, She just couldnt believe her eyes.

He took her by the hand, And softly kissed her lips. He pulled her close to him, And up her arm he ran his fingertips.

The two made love all night, The two became one. Desire and passion so hot, As hot as a noon sun.

The sweat of their bodies, Glistened in the candle light. Collapsing in each others arms, Somewhere in the middle of the night.

They curled up together, Holding her all so tight. With the glow of the candles, As the lovers nightlight.

Laying next to her, He rubbed her back with his hand. Just laying there looking at her, As she drifted off to dream land.

He woke her the next morning, With coffee for her in his hand. His beautiful sweet lover, The Princess of his land.

KSYN More Than Just Fame & Beauty

OutAroad.com Model Of The Week

girlKSYN.jpgKSYN pronounced Kay-Sin, is no stranger to the stage. She has been modeling for a little over 4 years, and dancing since the age of 5. Born and raised in the Bronx, this bombshell stands at 5′7″,134lbs with measurements of 32-26-39.With piercing eyes, a radiant smile, and legs to die for – Ksyn has surly begun to climb her way to the top.

Ksyn started her career at the age of 5 when her mother put her in ballet classes at a dance school in Harlem, NY. She then ventured off into different styles of dance like African and Jazz at the age of 10. She didn’t begin to have interest in hip hop until the age of 13 when she began stepping with a youth group called Teens In Motion. “Being apart of TIM, helped me as a teen. It kept me out of trouble and off the streets. It also guided me to believe in myself not only personally but as a performer”. While in TIM Ksyn got the opportunity to perform along side many of yesterday and today’s hottest artist from Imagine, NEXT to Usher, Alicia Keys and much much more.
Seemore.jpg

girlKSYN1.jpgShe then began to model not too long after with Motion Models, the modeling side of Teens In Motion and has been modeling ever since. Ksyn then decided to continue her education away from her home town. It was then, she realized that she wanted to grow more as a dancer and learn more about her art form. She obtained her B.S. in Arts Management with a concentration in Dance from Franklin Pierce College in NH. Ksyn’s diverse dance background in Hip Hop, Ballet, African, Jazz helped her evolve as a modern dancer.

Since then, Ksyn has branched off becoming one of today’s hottest ROOKIES in the modeling realm. She has graced the pages of Elle Girl, IB Concepts Magazine, FBM Magazine, Bet.com as B Girl in the for men section, has been featured on King-Mag.com and made her debut in SMOOTH Magazine. Her six page spread and interview shows that there are women in this business that are smart, sexy and on their grind all of the time. With her bright smile, bubbly personality, sexiness and ever growing talent, Miss Ksyn is definitely one to watch for.

Black Eyed Peas Take Top Two Slots On Billboard Hot 100

Black Eyed Peas
June 18, 2009 11:00 AM ET
Ayala Ben-Yehuda, L.A.

After eleven weeks at No. 1 with “Boom Boom Pow,” the Black Eyed Peas are right behind themselves at No. 2 with the debut of “I Gotta Feeling” on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.

With their No. 1 and No. 2 songs this week, the Peas are the first duo or group since OutKast to occupy the top two spots on the Hot 100. OutKast accomplished that feat with “Hey Ya!” and “The Way You Move” at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in the issue dated Feb. 4, 2004.

“I Gotta Feeling” moved 249,000 downloads in its first week, taking the lead on the Hot Digital Songs chart.

Meanwhile on the Hot 100, Keri Hilson’s “Knock You Down,” featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo held steady at No. 3, Pitbull’s “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” dropped 2-4, Lady GaGa’s “LoveGame” climbed 6-5 and Jeremih’s “Birthday Sex” fell 4-6. Rounding out the top 10 this week are Lady GaGa’s “Poker Face,” which fell 5-7, Sean Kingston’s “Fire Burning,” rising 9-8, Shinedown’s “Second Chance,” which dropped 7-9, and Beyonce’s “Halo,” which went from 8-10.

Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” scored the week’s greatest airplay gain, climbing 36-27 on the chart. The week’s greatest digital gainer was Jordin Sparks’ “Battlefield,” which jumped 65-46 following the video’s MTV premiere.

Among the new tracks on the Hot 100 this week are Kid Cudi’s “Make Her Say,” featuring Kanye West and Common, at No. 51; Jason Aldean’s “Big Green Tractor” at No. 85; and Matt & Kim’s “Daylight,” at No. 95. The song was featured in a Bacardi ad and saw its downloads jump 22% this week to 22,000.

Elsewhere, on the Hot Dance Club chart, Pet Shop Boys net their 25th top 10 single as “Love Etc.” climbs 13-9 in its fifth chart week. And Dangerbird Records’ Silversun Pickups become the first independently-distributed act in more than a decade to reach the top of the Alternative radio airplay chart as “Panic Switch” climbs 3-1.

DJ DIphoeniX’s top 20 Jamz – EVERY FRIDAY!!!..[the hottest songs on urban & pop radio] + updates on the Billboard Hot 100 & Jamaican Music Charts {June 12 – 18, 2009}

•June 14, 2009 • 1 Comment

SplashCast will be discontinuing its free service for publishers effective 12:00 AM June 1, 2009. We’ve made this decision given our focus on developing our “Social TV” product and expanding our TV application network. Three months ago, we asked you (our publishing community), whether you would be willing to pay for the service. The vast majority answered “no.” Furthermore, among those willing to pay, the average amount was extremely low. We discussed this in more detail in an earlier blog post. Additionally, advertising is not a realistic option. We’ve explored several approaches. While we love your content, advertisers aren’t willing to pay a reasonable price to sponsor it [As an aside, this is the issue that YouTube faces on a monumental scale.] Beyond subscription fees and advertising, we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about other, more creative, approaches. The unfortunate conclusion is that continuing our free service does not make business sense (we even considered a public broadcasting-like pledge drive). We’ve listened. We’ve thought creatively. We’ve weighed the alternatives. We’ve slept on it. In terms of alternatives, you might check out a service called Embedr. Here is a recent review on the ReadWriteWeb blog. If you know of other services, please let us know. Thanks for being a part of the SplashCast community. This is a tough (and sad) decision for us. We hope that you can understand that, as a startup, we have to focus.
Sincerely,
The SplashCast Team

The Black Eyed Peas Snag Top Spot On Hot 100

June 11, 2009 01:58 PM ET
Ayala Ben-Yehuda, Keith Caulfield and Silvio Pietroluongo

The Black Eyed Peas hold on to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, but there’s plenty of drama elsewhere on the chart from Kings of Leon, Drake and Mitchel Musso. Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” flies up 52-19 on the chart after the band’s performance of the song on the MTV Movie Awards sent downloads of the track up to 72,000 copies for the week.
Meanwhile, indie Canadian rapper Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” fell 18-36 on the chart, even as it notched the chart’s greatest radio airplay gain. That’s because the unauthorized track was removed from sale on iTunes, leading weekly downloads to drop from 46,000 to 4,000. Country star Kenny Chesney earns his highest ranking on the Hot 100 with “Out Last Night,” which rose 60-16 after his “Greatest Hits II” went up for digital sale. “Hannah Montana” co-star Mitchel Musso scored the week’s hot shot debut with “Hey,” which debuts at No. 70 on the chart. The song is from his self-titled Disney debut album, which was released June 2. Back in the top 10, Pitbull’s “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” rises 3-2, Keri Hilson featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo climbs 7-3 with “Knock You Down,” and Jeremih stays at No. 4 with “Birthday Sex.”

Lady GaGa drops 2-5 with “Poker Face,” but rises 10-6 with “Lovegame.”
Shinedown’s “Second Chance” goes up 11-7, as Beyonce’s “Halo” falls 6-8.
Sean Kingston’s “Fire Burning” smolders at No. 9 while Jamie Foxx feat.
T-Pain’s “Blame It” falls 5-10. Linkin Park claims its eighth No. 1 on the Modern Rock chart with “New Divide,” from the upcoming “Transformers” film. Meanwhile, farther down the Modern Rock tally, the Fray debuts at No. 34 with its cover of Kanye West’s “Heartless.” It’s the latest in a string of cover tunes to make the list recently, following Seether’s take on George Michael’s “Careless Whisper,”
My Chemical Romance’s redux of Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row” and Framing Hanley’s cover of Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop.”

Sexy Shara Camile heading to the top

OutAroad.com Model of The Week

shara_camille_sexy_model_photos2.jpgShara Camille (born Shara Camille McGriff) was born August 19th, 1983. The daughter of a bi racial mother of Japanese and African American descent and to a father of full African American descent, Shara got the best of both having a close relationship with both sides of her background. Being born and raised in the diverse San Francisco Bay Area helped Shara feel even more at home with her background due to the vast amount of bi racial peers with the similar Black and Asian descents.

Shara got her start in modeling at the age of 19 while attending Junior College in San Bruno (by way of San Francisco). She received formal model etiquette training at Barbizon Acting and Modeling School in San Francisco. What started off as a simple side hobby became a full on job. In the beginning, her modeling career started with simple promotional modeling at local clubs and events. Shara now has grown a name for herself and is considered one of the hardest working models of her area. Presently, Shara has a respectable amount of experience under her belt including modeling for runway, print ads, promotions, spokes modeling, and of course, video modeling. Shara made her music video debut on local Bay Area Artist Bailey’s video “U C IT” featuring J. Valentine which aired frequently on MTVJams and California radio stations.

Shara also has seven years of advanced Dance training including experience with Jazz, Ballet, Afro Haitian, Hip Hop, and modern dance. In addition, Shara also is a make up artist. What Shara brings to the modeling industry gives a pleasantly different edge to what other models are doing currently. “I don’t want to do what I see other models doing,” the model says, “I would like to advance in this business knowing I’m putting my own twist to my own ideas.” Shara is currently in the works of getting signed by both talent and modeling agencies and hopes to soon be putting her foot in the door for acting. She is currently considering some roles for independent movies. “I know I’m not an Oscar winner yet, I have to work my way up with acting like everyone else.” We all look forward to seeing more from this little lady in the upcoming.

Sexy Model Tiffanie – I’m a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman

OutAroad.com Model of The Week

Tiffanie describes her self with this peom – ‘Phenomenal Woman’

sexymodel-tiffanie.jpg“Phenomenal Woman” Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size But when I start to tell them, They think I’m telling lies. I say, It’s in the reach of my arms The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. I’m a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me. I walk into a room Just as cool as you please, And to a man, The fellows stand or Fall down on their knees. Then they swarm around me, A hive of honey bees.

I say, It’s the fire in my eyes, And the flash of my teeth, The swing in my waist, And the joy in my feet. I’m a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me. Men themselves have wondered What they see in me. They try so much But they can’t touch My inner mystery. When I try to show them They say they still can’t see. I say, It’s in the arch of my back, The sun of my smile, The ride of my breasts, The grace of my style. I’m a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me. Now you understand Just why my head’s not bowed. I don’t shout or jump about Or have to talk real loud. When you see me passing It ought to make you proud. I say, It’s in the click of my heels, The bend of my hair, the palm of my hand, The need of my care, ‘Cause I’m a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me.

DJ DIphoeniX’s top 20 Jamz – EVERY FRIDAY!!!..[the hottest songs on urban & pop radio] + updates on the Billboard Hot 100 & Jamaican Music Charts {June 5 – 11, 2009}

•June 5, 2009 • 1 Comment

The stunning beautiful Sandee Westgate (that smile!) was posing with fans at the AVN Expo 2006 at The Venetian in Las Vegas. She is so popular that no way I could get near her. I thank Nikon for inventing lenses with Vibration Reduction, so that I could make nice shots of her from a distance

DJ DIphoeniX’s top 20 Jamz – EVERY FRIDAY!!!..[the hottest songs on urban & pop radio] + updates on the Billboard Hot 100 & Jamaican Music Charts {May 29 – June 4, 2009}

•May 29, 2009 • 1 Comment

48-year-old Valerie Bertinelli drops 40 pounds to fit into her swimsuit again
Enlarge picture

She’s approaching 48 and she hasn’t posed for a magazine in a swimsuit since she was 20 years old. Yet, Valerie Bertinelli has risen to the challenge, and has managed to drop 40 pounds and finely tone her muscles, just in time to make the cover of People magazine, and only a few weeks before her big birthday.

Bertinelli has been a spokesperson for the Jenny Craig diet ever since 2007 and, understandably, she’s also on it, as she tells People. She stuck to the diet for an entire year and, when she saw that she managed to lose some weight and keep it off, she decided to go for something more drastic and hired a personal trainer to help her build muscle mass.

// //

Nine months later, she’s on the cover of the magazine, wearing nothing but a green swimsuit and showing off a body that 20-year-olds would kill to have, not to mention women nearing their 50s.

“Bertinelli’s 60-minute bikini workout routine, done four to five times a week, included two fitness components.” People magazine writes, adding that the workout has been comprised of cardio and strength training. The idea was not to be muscular or too skinny, but to regain confidence and look good on the beach again, a thing the actress had not been able to do for the past two years or so, as per her own admission. In the end, all the efforts were worth it, as the latest issue of People magazine clearly shows.

“Cardio: Overall, she ran on a treadmill for 30-45 minutes. But some days she broke up the time into 5-minute segments, starting with a 5-minute warm-up run followed by strength exercises, before getting back on the treadmill for another 5 minutes. Strength training: Bertinelli used resistance bands along with weights to perform a series of alternating combinations of up to 25 triceps dips, 20 push-ups, up to 30 squats, step-ups and over 100 sit-ups total.” the mag further informs.

Bertinelli rose to fame with the long-running TV series “One Day at a Time.” In recent years, though, she has been plagued by stories regarding her weight, with some publications even going as far as comparing her to chronic dieter and also Jenny Craig spokesperson Kirstie Alley, whose yo-yoing weight has often made the subject of many tabloid stories.

Ten video sharing services compared

The number of video-sharing sites has shot through the roof recently, as dozens of companies try to become the Flickr of the online video world. To this end, many video services have started offering new features like editing and remixability in an attempt to snatch a piece of the ever-expanding online video pie. But for the average user–who just wants to post a video on the ‘net and share it with some friends–there are already too many options out there. All one really wants to know is, which site is going to work, with the least amount of hassle?

I took 10 of these sites out for a test drive, and picked some winners. If you want to post, watch, share, or edit video online, this post’s for you.

To test each service, I uploaded my demo reel (a 15MB Sorenson 3-encoded Quicktime file) to each site and compared video quality, site interface, community features, and functionality. Where applicable I also tried to embed the resulting video in a WordPress page. Many of these sites are still in beta, and their functionality could change in the coming months, but if you’re looking to post and share video today, this is the current state of things.

Eyespot

Appeal: Easy-to-use video uploading and remixing.
Interface:
Bright and colorful. Tagging, forums, groups. Not a lot of community features.
Editing:
Trim beginning and end, reorder clips on a timeline, add music and photos.
Sharing:
Post to a group, invite a friend to the service (but not directly to your clip).
Verdict:
Uploading straightforward and painless. But: 25MB filesize limit too small. Mashup features fall short of Grouper’s “groovies,” and it’s not even in the same ballpark as Jumpcut when it comes to mixing and editing. Not a lot of reason to use Eyespot, in its current incarnation.

Google Video

Appeal: It’s Google.
Interface: Typically clean and sparse Google layout. Uploading requires you download the Google Video Uploader. Allows you to add plenty of metadata, including a transcript. You can monetize your content by assigning a sale price to each clip (you can also give users a “day pass,” giving them access to the content for a limited time, but not ownership).
Editing: None.
Sharing: See below.
Verdict: Google Video requires a “video verification” process, where your submission is reviewed to ensure it conforms to Google’s technical standards and legal policies. This process “may take several days,” so check back for an update.

Grouper

Appeal: YouTube with a file-sharing application built on top.
Interface: For full functionality, requires an application download. Windows Media Player-based (converts other formats). Ratings, tagging, groups, RSS feeds.
Editing: Create mashups of your videos and photos, set to music (”groovies”).
Sharing: Post direct to myspace, friendster, eBay. Download to hard drive, iPod.
Verdict: “Groovies” are easy to create and could be very popular. But: File-sharing application seems half-baked (and is undifferentiated from existing options). “Groovies” will prove much more popular if they can be built online without having to download the app. E-mail registration system was a pain; had to do it twice to get confirmed. After several hours, my file was still unavailable, as the service was still “upload processing.”

Jumpcut

Appeal: Create, edit, and remix video online.
Interface: Slick interface feels more like an application than a web page. Scales all videos to a larger size than other sites, but videos don’t autoplay and there is no indication of what portion of the video has already been downloaded.
Editing: Bar-none the best editing options of the bunch. Splice your footage, reorder the shots, add music, photos, transitions, even effects–think iMovie in an online interface. Very, very slick.
Sharing: Email to a friend, embed in a web page (worked flawlessly in WordPress).
Verdict: Playing with Jumpcut’s features, you immediately understand that the future of online video is here. No current competitor can touch it. But: Get too effects crazy and your video slows down. Jumpcut doesn’t re-render your files with every remix–which leaves the original video quality intact–but playback of edited files is not perfectly smooth. Don’t throw out iMovie just yet.

Ourmedia

Appeal: “The Global Home for Grassroots Media.”
Interface: Slow, confusing, and messy. Requires an Internet Archive account, and the integration of the two services is convoluted. Keeps your content in its native format, which is both good and bad–it doesn’t recompress your video, but it requires its users to have several different players installed correctly. Creative Commons licenses built-in.
Editing: None.
Sharing: RSS feeds, email to a friend, direct link to files from your own site.
Verdict: Going forward, a good place to upload your media if it is socially-conscious or activist by nature. Also works as an online repository for video/audio storage. But: One of the most difficult sites to upload video to. Current “alpha” version falls far short of potential–wait for the next version.

Revver

Appeal: YouTube with monetization–if people watch your video (and the embedded ad), you get paid 20% of what the advertiser pays Revver. If they click on the Revver link at the end, you split the proceeds 50/50.
Interace:
Quicktime-based. Requires you to download a client for uploading content. Tagging, emailing, rating, playlisting.
Editing:
None.
Sharing: See below.
Verdict: Offers a unique revenue-sharing model that may appeal to content owners and producers. But: Uploading process is convoluted (the promised drag-and-drop functionality was nowhere to be found). After trying to upload my file using the Revver client twice, my video was still listed as “unavailable.” I later received an email from Revver stating that my submission may contain unauthorized material that requires clearances–which is true. Because Revver and Google Video are the only sites in this roundup that let you monetize your content, we’ll be back with an update comparing the two.

Videoegg

Appeal: Lets you painlessly upload video of any format to the web and post it to other sites or share it with friends.
Interface: Requires you download an application in order to upload. The download seamlessly embeds in your browser to give you drag-and-drop functionality.
Editing: Basic trimming of beginning and end points.
Sharing: Post direct to eBay, Blogger, and Typepad. Creates a simple URL, lets you email the video, and gives you javascript and html code for embedding in your own pages.
Verdict: Painless experience. If you only need to post and share video with friends, Videoegg just works. Flash 8 video quality is pretty decent. But: Video didn’t embed properly in other pages (WordPress).

Vimeo

Appeal: Flickr for video.
Interface: Nice and clean, uses a flash wrapper to play native formats. No download required, simple and easy uploads. Tagging, commenting, voting. Nice player with a volume control and no burned-in logo.
Editing: None in the current version.
Sharing: Post to Flickr, send to del.icio.us, download original file, embed in your MySpace profile or blog, create an RSS feed.
Verdict: Good video quality. Embedding the video in WordPress worked flawlessly. But: Light on community features, and weekly storage cap of 20 megs is too limiting.
vSocial

Appeal: “The fastest, easiest way to upload, watch and share your favorite video clips.”
Interface: All Web 2.0′d-out. Big fonts, AJAX, tagging, rating, reviewing, RSS feeds, creative commons licenses.
Editing: Offers “edit this video” functionality, which I couldn’t test (see below). Can also create “Video Rolls,” which are customized playlists generated from your selected criteria.
Sharing: Embed in your own page, MySpace, Typepad, Blogger, del.icio.us, Flickr, Blog It! (write a post on your own blog about a video without leaving vSocial).
Verdict: Lots of community features. But: Didn’t live up to their “fastest” or “easiest” claim–I never successfully got a video uploaded (tried three times). Quality of existing clips is less than stellar–everything’s resized to 320X240. Your mileage may vary, but even with a Quicktime file that uploaded to other sites without a problem, I never got vSocial to work.

YouTube

Appeal: The video-sharing site everyone’s already heard of. Mindshare-winner by a mile.
Interface: Tabbed pages feature ratings, favorites, flagging, tagging, and commenting. Create playlists, subscribe to other’s uploads, subscribe to tags. The player only features a mute button (rather than level control), and full-screening the video opens a new window and starts playback over.
Editing: None.
Sharing: Embed in other websites, including Friendster, eBay, Blogger, MySpace.
Verdict: Easy to use, no major issues. Decent video quality, audio sounds compressed. Video embedded in WordPress fine (but was off-center). But: No progress bar for uploading. Fairly lengthy “processing” delay before you (or anyone else) can watch your video.

AND THE WINNERS ARE…

For posting: If you just want to get a video clip online and share it with friends via email or on your own blog, Vimeo wins for its speed, ease-of-use, and simple playback functions. It also lets users download the original file, and features some light community features (note that a new version is launching very soon). One of the few sites I used that I never had a problem with. Alternate choice: Videoegg.

For viewership: If you want to step up to more community features and get widespread viewership of your viral clip, YouTube gets the job done with a lot less hassle than vSocial or Grouper.

For editing: If you want to alter your video online in any way–through editing, remixing, or combining your clips with those from other users–then head on over to Jumpcut and don’t look back. Jumpcut really offers the first leap forward in online video sharing, and is worth a look even if you have no use for editing features (its full-fledged community is launching “very soon”). Alternate choice: none, yet, although Motionbox looks to be a potential competitor.

For this roundup, I left out more services than I reviewed. This is because many of them are mere YouTube clones, at least in their current state (e.g., CastPost, ClipShack, Dailymotion). Others, like Dabble and the aforementioned Motionbox, are not yet publicly available. You’re welcome to check out a list of 40 video sharing sites at eConsultant, all of which I at least glanced at. TechCrunch also has some great coverage of the developing online video scene. Finally, please add your own experiences and comments below, and feel free to disagree with my choices.

Why Video Share Websites?

Video share websites are changing the way we view media and the media we view. On the Internet, amateur producers can share their videos with thousands of viewers and average people can steal the limelight from Hollywood stars.

Whether you’re looking for a clip of your favorite movie, an important newscast, a how–to video or just some good entertainment, you’ll find it on the Internet. Video share sites make it easy to browse, find and watch your favorite streaming video.

You can become a celebrity or famous producer overnight. Video share sites offer the tools and resources producers need to create and upload videos. You can access helpful articles and editing tools. Some sites allow you to post your videos for everyone to view or keep them private.

In this site, you’ll find articles on video share and production and comprehensive reviews on video share sites that will help you make an informed decision on which video share site is right for you. At TopTenREVIEWS, we do the research so you don’t have to.™

What to Look for in a Video Share Website

There are currently over 50 video share websites on the Internet and the number continues to grow. Most of these websites offer free memberships. We’ve scoured the web for the very best video share websites—so after reading about the advantages and disadvantages each has; you may want to try a few sites before choosing one.

Below are the criteria TopTenREVIEWS used to evaluate video share websites.

  • Audience Features – Video share websites should have features that make searching and viewing videos enjoyable. These features may include a search box, the ability to search by category, screenshot previews of the videos, a short description of the content, user submitted video ratings and other items that enhance the viewing experience.
  • Producer Features – The best video hosting sites offer resources for those who produce and post videos. The site may offer video creation tools, educational resources and the ability to add a description and select whether the video is public or private.
  • Content – This is one of the most important aspects of video sharing sites and the reason we visit them. The best sites have a large library of good content. The content should be regulated, and not include copyrighted, pornographic, racist or violent movies; or movies that offend human dignity, are contrary to decency or endanger youth.(Note: Though many movie share sites have strict content policies, occasionally movies that contain questionable material are posted.
  • Ease of Use – Video share sites should be easy to navigate and use with organized categories and a search box. The videos should load and play quickly without buffering delays.
  • Help/Support – Though video share sites are free, they should still include first–class help and support through FAQs, user guides, customer service by email or phone, and ideally, a user forum.

DJ DIphoeniX’s top 20 Jamz – EVERY FRIDAY!!!..[the hottest songs on urban & pop radio] + updates on the Billboard Hot 100 & Jamaican Music Charts {May 22 – 28, 2009}

Pitbull, Jeremih Hit Top Ten On Billboard Hot 100

Pitbull
May 21, 2009 12:12 PM ET
Gary Trust, N.Y.

Pitbull unleashes his first top 10, “American Idol” spurs movement for Katy Perry, Jordin Sparks and the Fray, and Jeremih jumps into the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart this week.

Pitbull’s 10th Hot 100 appearance marks his first top 10, as “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” jumps 11-4. The song posts an 11-2 leap on Hot Digital Songs with 129,000 downloads (up 69%), while also reaching the top 10 of Hot 100 Airplay (14-9) with 62 million listener impressions (up 10%).

The Black Eyed Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow” spends a seventh week at No. 1 and becomes the act’s first Hot 100 Airplay topper. Lady GaGa’s “Poker Face” holds at No. 2 and Jamie Foxx feat. T-Pain’s “Blame It” again ranks at No. 3. Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite” dips 4-5, Beyonce’s “Halo” descends a spot to No. 6 and 3OH!3 lifts 8-7 with “Don’t Trust Me.” Flo Rida feat. Wynter’s “Sugar” drops from No. 6 to No. 8, while Jeremih collects his first top 10, as “Birthday Sex” sizzles 13-9. The song also takes over the summit of Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Rounding out the top 10 is Soulja Boy Tell’em feat. Sammie’s “Kiss Me Thru the Phone,” which dips from No. 7 to No. 10.

Three of last week’s “American Idol” performances spur movement on this week’s Hot 100. Katy Perry’s “Waking Up in Vegas” rockets 51-13, while Jordin Sparks’ “Battlefield” bows at No. 32. Newly-crowned “Idol” king Kris Allen’s cover of Kanye West’s “Heartless” enticed consumers to download the Fray’s similar organic rendition, which enters at No. 79.

Eminem nets the chart’s Hot Shot Debut at No. 17 with “Beautiful,” the fifth song to chart from his new album “Relapse,” set to debut atop next week’s Billboard 200 album chart.

The Jonas Brothers’ “Paranoid” pops on at No. 37. Even with the siblings’ new series recently launching on the Disney Channel, the first single from their new set “Lines, Vines and Trying Times,” due June 16, starts with a relatively modest 65,000 downloads. The sum is well below the 183,000 shifted last July by “Burnin’ Up,” the preview track from the trio’s last studio set, “A Little Bit Longer.”

Also new on this week’s Hot 100 is Cobra Starship feat. “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester’s “Good Girls Go Bad” at No. 76; Jessie James’ “Wanted,” co-written by “Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi, at No. 87; Darius Rucker’s third country single “Alright” at No. 91; the Pussycat Dolls feat. Nicole Scherzinger’s “Hush Hush” at No. 96; and Trey Songz’ “I Need a Girl” at No. 100.

As Green Day launches on the Billboard 200 at No. 1 with “21st Century Breakdown,” lead single “Know Your Enemy” advances 2-1 on the Mainstream Rock airplay tally.

On the Hot Dance Club Play chart, Depeche Mode claims its eighth No. 1, as “Wrong” rises to the top slot. The coronation ties the veteran act with Pet Shop Boys for the most No. 1s among groups. The latter act meanwhile debuts at No. 36 with “Love Etc.,” the first single from its new album, “Yes.”

Mariah Carey, Usher Announce New Album Titles

Maariah Carey’s new album is called “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.”
May 21, 2009 04:25 PM ET
David J. Prince, N.Y.

In separate announcements yesterday (May 20), both Mariah Carey and Usher announced the titles of their forthcoming albums.

Carey, who maintains an active presence on Twitter and has over 400,000 followers, made the announcement in a mid-day tweet.

“Bcuz I Love U, I want u to be the first to know the title of my new album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” Its very personal & dedicated to u,” she wrote.  Carey also revealed on Twitter that she is working with Timbaland on the record.

The album is due in the fall, according to her label representative, but no further official information is yet available.

Usher’s announcement was less dramatic.  A one sentence press release distributed in the afternoon read, “Usher has just announced ‘Monster’ as the title for upcoming new album to be released fall 2009.”

(It’s the best day of the year girl)
Birthday sex… Birthday sex oohoohoohooh
(G-spot g-spot let me hit that g-spot g-spot girl)

Verse 2
See you sexy in them jeans got me on 10
1-2-3… Think I got you pinned
Don’t tap out, fight until the end
Ring that bell, and we gon start over again
We grindin with passion, ’cause it’s your birthday
Been at it for hours, I know you thirsty
You kiss me so sweetly, taste just like Hershey’s
Just tell me how you want you gift, girl

Chorus
Girl you know I-I-I, Girl you know I-I-I
I been feenin,
Wake up in the late night
Been dreamin bout your loving, girl
Girl you know I-I-I, Girl you know I-I-I
Don’t need candles and cake
Just need your body to make
Birthday sex… Birthday sex oohoohoohooh
(It’s the best day of the year girl)
Birthday sex… Birthday sex oohoohoohooh
(G-spot g-spot let me hit that g-spot g-spot girl)

Verse 3
First, I’m gonna take a dive into the water deep
Until I know I pleased that body (body)
Or girl without a broom I might just sweep you off yo feet
And make you wanna tell somebody (body) how I do
Or maybe we can float on top my waterbed (bed)
You close your eyes as I improv between your legs
We work our way from kitchens, stoves and tables
Girl, you know I’m more than able to please yeah
You say you wanted flowers on the bed (on the bed)
But you got me in hours on the bed

Chorus
Girl you know I-I-I, Girl you know I-I-I
I been feenin,
Wake up in the late night
Been dreamin bout your loving, girl
Girl you know I-I-I, Girl you know I-I-I
Don’t need candles and cake
Just need your body to make…
Birthday sex… Birthday sex oohoohoohooh
(It’s the best day of the year girl)
Birthday sex… Birthday sex oohoohoohooh
