appear on the chart)

HENCE songs are not deemed to have fallen off the charts UNTIL they are
OUTSIDE/BELOW the top 50 and NOT the top 30 broadcasted on air. This IS
reflected in the year end ‘jamz’ and explains partially why songs peaking
significantly lower than others may still finish ahead of them on the
year-end charts.

Bruno Mars Makes It Three Weeks Atop Hot 100

by Silvio Pietroluongo, N.Y.  |   October 07, 2010 11:00 EDT

Harper Smith

Bruno Mars stands tall at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a third consecutive week with “Just the Way You Are,” maintaining his perch despite being knocked out of the upper rung of Digital Songs.

Bruno Mars Steps Into Spotlight with ‘Doo-Wops & Hooligans’

“Just the Way You Are” shifts 178,000 downloads (down 6%), according to Nielsen SoundScan, and falls to No. 2 on the sales tally behind Far*East Movement’s “Like a G6” (216,000, up 20%). With that No. 1 sales ranking, the four-man act from Los Angeles becomes the first multi-member group to top Digital Songs with its initial chart appearance since Hinder led the list with “Lips Of An Angel,” four years ago this month.

“Like a G6,” which features Cataracs & Dev, jets 6-2 on the Hot 100 and earns the Airplay Gainer honor with an improvement of 17.3 million listener impressions (up 30%, to 75.8 million), according to Nielsen BDS.

Far East Movement Rockets Up Hot 100

Katy Perry becomes the first artist to take two of her own tracks to No. 1 on Radio Songs this year, as “Teenage Dream” darts 2-1 with 135.3 million listener impressions. Rihanna, as a lead act and as a featured vocalist, has also placed two titles at No. 1 on that list in 2010. On the Hot 100, “Teenage Dream” slips 2-3, though it does post an overall point gain.

Also in dream mode is Nelly with “Just a Dream,” which rises 7-4. Falling one spot each are “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love,” by Usher featuring Pitbull (4-5), and Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” (5-6).

Rihanna is part of the next two songs on the Hot 100, as her former No. 1 pairing with Eminem, “Love the Way You Lie,” drops 3-7, while her own “Only Girl (in the World)” holds at No. 8.

Uptempo collaborations close out the top 10 with “I Like It,” by Enrique Iglesias featuring Pitbull, holding at No. 9, and “Club Can’t Handle Me,” by Flo Rida featuring David Guetta, remaining at No. 10.

As mentioned yesterday, the Glee Cast sets a notable Hot 100 chart record, as the ensemble debuts an additional six songs on the chart from its Britney Spears-inspired episode, led by the troupe’s rendition of “Toxic” at No. 16. That song sells 109,000 to start at No. 9 on Digital Songs, while the half-dozen entries sell a cumulative 406,000, down from the 409,000 shifted by last week’s five new entries.

‘Glee’ Cast Breaks Beatles’ Hot 100 Record

Profiting from the “Glee” effect is Paramore’s “The Only Exception,” the only non-Spears song performed on the Sept. 28 episode. While the cast’s cover of the song moves 89,000 and debuts at No. 26 on the Hot 100, Paramore’s original sells 71,000 (up 176%), a one-week high for the track as it rebounds 57-25 as the Digital Gainer honoree. The song’s previous best download frame was on the chart dated Aug. 28 (49,000), when it reached its Hot 100 peak at No. 24.

Also making multiple debuts on the Hot 100 is Lil Wayne, who enters with four tracks from his No. 2-debuting album, “I Am Not a Human Being.” Leading the charge is the unpleasantly titled “Gonorrhea” at No. 17, which opens at No. 10 on Digital Songs with 107,000.

Five of this week’s 15 debuting songs are “Glee” and Weezy-free, including: “Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor),” by Pitbull featuring T-Pain (No. 51); Nicki Minaj’s “Right Thru Me” (No. 74); and “Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)” by My Chemical Romance (No. 77). Also entering the list are Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” at No. 81 and “Hope She Cheats On You (With A Basketball Player)” by Marsha Ambrosius at No. 88.

Educational Background: Immaculate Conception High School
Recently graduated from Randolph-Macon College, Virginia USA: Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with an emphasis on Pre-Medicine. She attended the college on a 4 year academic scholarship.

Sara comes from an academic family and therefore has always been committed to her studies. During high school, she made sure she had time to be involved in school activities, acting as games captain for her house. In addition, Sara is an avid dancer. She once attended the In Motion Dance School and even considered doing a minor in the field.

Sara and Miss Jamaica World: Sara entered Miss Jamaica World because of the opportunity it would afford her to develop as a person. She is also excited about the opportunity to represent Jamaica because she is a proud Jamaican and believes deeply in the country’s potential.

From Wikipedia

Sara Lawrence was the representative for Jamaica in the Miss World 2006 beauty pageant. In March 2007, she relinquished the Miss Jamaica World title upon announcing her pregnancy, becoming the first winner in the Jamaican contest’s 23-year-history to do so.

Lawrence was born in Kingston, Jamaica. She graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia, where she majored in biology with an emphasis on pre-medicine; according to her contestant biography, her career ambition is to become a doctor specializing in obstetrics and gynaecology.

After winning the Jamaican title in August 2006, Lawrence placed in the first six at the Miss World competition held in Warsaw, Poland, where she was also named Miss World Caribbean.

Upon relinquishing her crown in March 2007, Lawrence said in a statement that she had “taken a deeply personal decision to face up to my responsibilities as one who expects to become a mother later this year. I believe with all that is within me that it is my moral obligation to do what I believe to be ethically correct and follow what I believe in my heart to be right.”

The pageant’s entry rules dictate that contestants must not have given birth to a child prior to the competition, and the winner “must be prepared to be a positive role model for the youth of Jamaica.” Mickey Haughton-James, a pageant official, said that “Lawrence’s actions could potentially harm the tradition that is the Miss Jamaica World pageant and its past and future winners.”

Lawrence, however, received overwhelming support from the Jamaican public for her decision to have her baby. She received the backing of the Miss World Organization and was allowed to retain both her crowns for the full duration of the reign.
