<!–
| In response to numerous suggestions and subsequent to consultations with several players within our music and entertainment industry, a decision has been taken, effective August 10, 2007, to present the Weekly Charts in two separate categories as follows: 1. Top 20 Dancehall Singles / 2. Top 20 Reggae Singles This new format, will allow both the Dancehall and Reggae genres within our popular music to have their own distinctive path for acceptance, promotion and recognition. The list of categories in our end of year, Excellence in Music and Entertainment Awards (E.M.E. Awards), has also been adjusted to accommodate this revision. Richard “Richie B” Burgess |

Lady GaGa
|
Lady GaGa begins a second week atop the Billboard Hot 100 with “Just Dance” featuring Colby O’Donis, after selling more than 213,000 downloads in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The track has shifted 2.14 million downloads since its release last spring.
Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” is No. 2 on the Hot 100 but scores a ninth week atop Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
In addition, “Single Ladies” moves to No. 1 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart in the most tightly contested battle for the top slot in more than eight years. With 147.3 million listener impressions, “Ring” races past T.I.’s “Live Your Life” by 350,000 impressions, the smallest gap between the top two titles since the April 1, 2000, chart when ‘N Sync’s “Bye Bye Bye” finished ahead of Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” by 90 impressions.
Back on the Hot 100, Kanye West’s “Heartless” jumps 5-3 as the fastest growing track at radio, while “Live Your Life” slides 3-4 and Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” falls 4-5. Katy Perry’s “Hot N Cold” and Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” hold at Nos. 6 and 7 respectively, while Kevin Rudolf’s “Let It Rock” featuring Lil Wayne and Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” flip-flop 8-9.
The All-American Rejects’ “Gives You Hell” soars 18-10 to give the band its third top 10 Hot 100 hit. The track sold 151,000 downloads, a 20% gain over last week.
The Hot 100’s top debut comes from rock outfit the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ “Pen & Paper” at No. 75. The title track from the group’s Feb. 3 Virgin release “You Better Pray” is No. 19 on the Modern Rock chart.
Brad Paisley and Keith Urban’s “Start a Band” is the new leader on Hot Country Songs, jumping 3-1. This is the first male duet to top the chart since Kenny Chesney & Uncle Kracker led for five weeks in April-May 2004. It’’s the 13th No. 1 for Paisley and the ninth for Urban.
Once again, there’s no change on Billboard’s rock charts, with Kings Of Leon’s “Sex on Fire” starting a sixth week atop Modern Rock and Shinedown leading Mainstream Rock for a fifth with “Second Chance.”
